Announced on Monday, European Commission is getting supports from major mobile phone manufacturers for using micro-USB port to charge the phone battery. Those manufacturers represent about 90 percent of Europe’s market share, which include Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Apple, LG, NEC, RIM (BlackBerry), Qualcomm and Texas Instruments. |

At this point, the fact that Samsung is launching new phones will not surprise anyone. The company has been doing it all year long and we hope it won’t stop anytime soon. This time around Samsung has new entry-level phones for us. |

These aren’t the first rumors regarding Dell introducing a new portable device but they sure are the first of their kind. The latest rumor coming to us from the Wall Street Journal suggests that Dell may be working on a touch-screen MID running none other than Google’s Android. |

The Motorola device, the Motorola Clutch i465 initially made its way through Boost Mobile. But now, Sprint is scheduled to introduce the said phone starting at $29.99 a month this coming summer. |

We’ve already heard rumors about Nokia working on the Google Android platform in some shape or form. We’ve also heard about Nokia’s new partnership with Intel to develop some family of next-generation devices. These two things may be coming together for some convergence, because we’re hearing about an Android-powered netbook from Nokia in the near future. |

Verizon Wireless is gearing up to launch the much-awaited BlackBerry Tour on July 12th for $199 with a two-year agreement, according to BGR. The Tour 9630 will have a sharper screen than other Blackberry phones and it will run on 3G networks. Besides Verizon, Sprint have also announced that they will be getting the new Blackberry Tour smartphone. |

One of the things that I was hoping would make it to the new iPhone 3GS was flash for the camera. One of the worst aspects of the original iPhone was the low light performance if its camera. Alas, the new iPhone debuted without flash as well. |
