Nexus One update enables multitouch, 3G fixes

Sample ImageFinally, Google has released an over-the-air update enabling multitouch, Google Goggles,  a new version of Google Maps and some 3G fixes. Users will receive a message on their phone’s notification bar, then just download and install it. Since the update will be rolled out gradually, Google says that most users might not receive the notification until the end of the week.

Sample ImageWhile Microsoft is on its way to launch the Windows Mobile 7, the company is pushing out another updates to its Windows Mobile 6.5 with the Windows Mobile 6.5.3. Both Garmin Asus M10 and Sony Ericsson Aspen are confirmed to have the 6.5.3. The Garmin Asus M10 will be available in Taiwan from 6-February this week. According to ZDnet’s All About Microsoft, they have obtained a list of the changes in the new version. It includes a better finger friendly navigation design, support capacitive touch screen, improved IE browser and also able to support multitouch with capacitive touch screen.

Motorola Backflip now available in China

The unlocked version will be sold directly by Motorola China for about 4,298 Chinese Yuan (US $629). The company’s third Android mobile device launched at the CES boasts a 320 x 480 pixels capacitive touchscreen and a full QWERTY physical keyboard.

Verizon Wireless Launches VZ Navigator 5.0

Sample ImageVerizon Wireless today announced the launch of VZ Navigator 5.0, which offer enhancements to the existing service that take advantage of location-based technology, including an updated, easy-to-use interface, improved functionality finding points of interest, and the ability to run multiple VZ Navigator functions simultaneously within a navigation session. The service is now integrated with Facebook, allowing users to keep up with their friends, family and social networks by updating their Facebook statuses directly through VZ Navigator, with the option to include and share their locations. Customers can also use Verizon Wireless’ Roadside Assistance service to send their locations to a dispatcher so assistance may reach them more quickly.
