10-Year-Old Hacker Finds Flaw in Mobile Games

A 10-year-old hacker on Sunday spoke at the first-ever Defcon Kids, as more young people become involved in the hacking community.

Using the pseudonym CyFi, she presented her zero-day exploit before one hundred hackers at the annual conference in Las Vegas. She explained how she infiltrated games similar to Farmville on Android and iOS platforms in order to speed up their meandering pace.

Facebook Makes Breakups More Complicated

Breakups are getting messier with Facebook, as teenagers increasingly post mean or embarrassing statuses about their exes.

"We want young people to engage in healthy relationships and part of it is breaking up, an oft-neglected area because adults are not comfortable, nor do they have the skills," said Casey Corcoran, director of the Boston Public Health Commission's Start Strong initiative. A Florida company has sued Apple for a patent used in its Mac OSX startup process, an indication the mobile tech industry's courtroom wars may soon expand to include laptops and other devices.

Scotland Yard is looking for people who may have used social media and messaging to incite violence in London over the weekend, another indication of the new role social media is playing in social unrest.
