Motorola announced the release of their two new Linux powered smartphones. The Motoming A1600 and Motoming A1800, are two powerful business devices with, GPS, touchscreen and a handful of other features. There have been rumors that these phones have already been available in china, but now it is official that these two phones do exist. |

Nokia has release a small software update for Nokia N78. The software update includes improved stability with Bluetooth (headsets and car kits) and music (playback over a long time and content refresh). This release also includes optimized Camera performance and Naviscroll sensitivity improvements. |

It’s been a while since we heard anything new on Sony Ericsson’s upcoming flagship device, the Xperia X1, but the device was seen lurking around at the CommunicAsia fair held in Singapore recently. I have said it already and will still say that this is one hot device that I truly look forward to in 2008. The VGA screen really stands out, even though we are just looking at pictures. Makes us want to forgive Sony Ericsson for dumping the BeiBei and Paris, doesn’t it? Pantech and SK Telecom will start selling the new IM-R300 touch screen phone in Korea this week. As usual, the IM-R300 will support the T-DMB media broadcast service with its 2.6-inch WQVGA display screen (240 x 400 pixels). Other than T-DMB, it has built in GPS receiver and users can subscribe to the T-Map service in Korea for GPS navigation. |

Designer Rune Larson has had a pretty good run with his interesting cell phone concepts and the Shape Shifter you see here is another one of his unique concepts that could work 5 or 10 years down the lane, hopefully. The Shape Shifter incorporates two layers of plastic, one flexible and a hard one underneath it with “special” liquid between them. |
