Nokia announced an extension of its relationship with Sony Ericsson, bringing Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email to two additional Sony Ericsson devices, the M600 and P990. Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email allows mobile professionals to enjoy a fully synchronized, real-time email, calendar and contacts experience on their mobile devices. The solution is available immediately.

You won't be able to get your hands on an Apple iPhone for another five months or so (assuming it'll still go by that name). In the meantime, you get an iPhone-like experience on your Palm OS device using the appropriately named iPhony launcher utility. Currently compatible with only 320 x 320 pixel screens, iPhony takes that slick iPhone interface that we've been drooling over all week and plunks it into your business-minded Treo. It doesn't exactly give your PDA phone all that fun functionality - multitouch screen, widescreen movies, iTunes compatiblity, and so on - but you can trick some of your friends into thinking you're the greatest hacker of all time.

According to one web-site Nokia have added a number of user agent profile files to their website including ones for the as yet unannounced Nokia E61i and Nokia E65 models. Careful reading of the user agent profiles reveals that both devices run on S60 3rd Edition on Symbian OS 9.1. The E61i appears to be a tweaked version of the E61. I just found a new concept on Shiny Shiny. As a designer, you can pack them full of whatever you want, which makes it surprising there's only 2GB storage, a 3.2 megapixel camera and a radio. What about the in-built nail varnish remover, the wardrobe coordinator or the malaria vaccine, that's what I want to know.

Anyway, it looks hot, although not a world away from the slightly more real iPhone. I will be starting a petition today to Mr Sony and Mr Ericsson, so feel free to join my bandwagon.

NTT DoCoMo and its eight regional subsidiaries announced today the development of new 3G FOMA handsets - the 703i Series, D800iDS and SO903iTV.

The 703i Series consists of eight models: N703iμ (iμ is pronounced i-mew), P703iμ, D703i, F703i, N703iD, P703i, SH703i, and SO703i. Most of the models are extra slim, with the N703iμ and P703iμ being the thinnest W-CDMA clamshell handsets in the world as of January 15, 2007.
