Sprint has announced two new Motorola handsets which, as well as supporting Nextel Direct Connect, are also ruggedized.  The Renegade V950 flip-phone and the i365 candybar both meet military specifications for dust, shock, vibration and blowing rain; the i365 also meets the humidity specification.

The Renegade V950 uses Qualcomm’s QChat technology, has push-to-talk and Sprint Mobile Broadband.  It’s the carrier’s first Nextel Direct Connect device to also support Sprint’s multimedia data services, including Sprint Music Store and Sprint TV.  The i365, meanwhile, has a double-volume speakerphone intended for conference calls in environments with high ambient noise (e.g. construction sites).

Both handsets are available now.  The Renegade V950 is priced from $129.99, while the i365 is from $89.99; both require a new service agreement.
