Concept phones, even though they may never materialize into the real thing, gives us a glimpse at what technology may evolve into in may be another 5 or 10 years. But the Packet, designed by Emir Rafat, looks even more futuristic and if this ever becomes a tangible product, I would be the first in line to buy it. The cell phone will measure a mere 5x5 cm in its folded state, and when the thing opens up, it will reveal 5 individual touchscreens with a keypad, display, mini-keyboard x2, and a surface with touch-sensitive buttons. The entire phone will be made of a material not unlike epaper making the Packet extremely thin and lightweight, and the fact that it will be made from ecofriendly materials adds a touch of green to it. No wonder it won first place in the Istanbul Design Week 2007. Source |
