Israeli scientists from Holon Academic Institute of Technologies demonstrated the possibility of integrating an IR camera in a cell phone. The aim of the experiment was finding out whether a cell phone can support such camera. It turned out that there are no restrictions as to this.

The IR cameras can fulfill a lot of useful functions from distant temperature taking to searching people under the layer of snowdrifts. And of course serve as night vision equipment. There are no plans as to integrating such cameras in the cell phones however on of the experiment participants was major Israeli carrier Cellcom.
