Microsoft has recently announced joining Mobile DTV Alliance created to advance and develop DVB-H technology (Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld) which already includes Intel, Motorola, Nokia, Modeo and Texas Instruments. As a part of the alliance Microsoft is to help advancing DVB-H on North-American market. Optimised for handsets Microsoft Windows Media technologies such as Windows Media Audio Professional, Windows Media Digital Rights Management (DRM) and Windows Media Video were already used by Modeo in its pilot DVB-H net.
