Next time you fancy a cup of tea you really don't need to make a tiring face, as a kettle manufacturing company has bridged the gap between you and your first sip of the refreshment by collaborating with a mobile phone company to create the world's first satellite kettle. Now, just tap out a text me
ssage and the job's half done.
Tea makers 'PG Tips' have joined forces with mobile phone company 'Orange' to create a kettle, called "the ReadyWhenUR", which lets you brew via a text message.
Now, all you need to do is text the words "switch on", even when you're on the way home from work or lolling in the lounge watching TV, and the water will be on the boil by the time you get to the kitchen.
The silver and black coloured kettle is fitted with a radio receiver programmed with your mobile number, an electronic circuit and a tiny set of mechanical levers.
The high-tech gadget , inspired by animated inventors Wallace and Gromit , will be on sale from January, and its makers are hailing it as the greatest thing since the Teasmade.
"It could revolutionise tea-time. Now there is no excuse for not putting the kettle on," the Mirror quoted a spokeswoman as saying.
However, even though the kettle has simplified the task of making the drink , it can't actually make the tea or coffee, as it you still have to remember to fill the kettle with water. It's price, which will be around $100, also makes it difficult to afford. |
