 Business-oriented handsets are not what they used to be. An increasing number of manufacturers are shifting their focus to more intuitive interface and appealing design. And the Samsung OmniaPRO B7610 is an attempt at the very same things – enjoyable overall look and improved usability. Just like the Omnia II, it is a Windows phone personalized with Samsung´s TouchWiz 2.0 interface. Initially, the cell phone rolled out running Windows Mobile 6.1, but the manufacturer released a software update to version 6.5, plus recent units get cranked out featuring the latest OS edition. |

It feels as if it had been yesterday when we first saw the HTC Touch, the famous forerunner of probably the most successful series of Windows Mobile phones ever. Actually this happened in 2007 (the same year when the iPhone 2GS rolled out), the phone featured WM 6.0 that was well hidden under TouchFLO and was considered a high-end device. |

HTC set a standard for Windows Mobile customization with TouchFLO, and last year Samsung made their entry into the market with the TouchWiz UI touting Omnia. The Samsung Omnia II I8000 is now here, and a 2 has been added to the end of TouchWiz as well. This new Omnia is bigger and badder, with just about everything getting a refresh. The screen has gained half an inch- now up to 3.7” and the resolution has quadrupled to 480x800. AMOLED technology has replaced TFT for improved battery life and more vibrant images. |

There was quite a fuss surrounding the release of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, because this was the first device of the manufacturer featuring touch sensitive display. And until recently, it was the only one as well. With its affordable price tag and good overall functionality, the 5800 turned out to be a success, which must have tipped off the manufacturer that they could bite off a larger chunk of the lucrative market. Today we are introducing the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, the second touch screen model of the company’s music series. We can definitely call it a younger sibling of the 5800 or its lighter version if you will. |
