Sony Ericsson C905 Review PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 10 November 2008

Sample ImageIn June, Sony Ericsson raised the bar for cameraphones announcing the first 8-megapixel phone intended for the European market - C905. A few months later, it just comes to the market, left behind the competition; Samsung already launched the INNOV8 and Pixon and LG offers its Renoir. The Cyber-shot model wasn’t first to hit the market, but it still might be the best so far. Although it is touted to be a “real camera rival”, the C905 has yet to prove that. The key characteristics in this aspect are a camera-like design, Xenon flash, face recognition, and picture tagging, thanks to the built-in GPS. C905 is the first non-smartphone of the manufacturer with an integrated Wi-Fi support, which can be used for Internet access and DLNA-compatible devices (e.g. to view pictures on DLNA-capable TV wirelessly).

Samsung M8800 Pixon Review PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 03 November 2008

Sample ImageIt’s an 8-megapixel camera, it’s a multimedia player… it’s the new Samsung Pixon. The latest model from the Korean company falls in the highest-class and is a direct rival to the Renoir by LG. It’s also one of the many contenders for the title “King of the multimedia phones”, which is currently held by the iPhone. Under the Pixon’s hood you’ll find many features, including an 8-megapixel camera marketed as “better than an actual camera” and multiple video file formats in order to play clips without having to convert them. The only thing it lacks specification-wise is Wi-Fi and global 3G.

Nokia N96 Review PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 20 October 2008

Sample ImageThe Nokia N96 has a pretty hefty reputation to live up to. The N95 was a true powerhouse, and the finest converged device of its time. With a 5 megapixel camera, 3G data, the powerful S60 UI and eventually 8GB of internal memory there were few devices that could compete with it, and arguably no one could do it as well. Then along came a little device out of Cupertino and the cellular landscape changed. Not one to be reactive, Nokia has stuck to its guns with the retooled N96 and delivered an upgraded device that once again aims to sit atop of the mobile industry; improvements include 16GB of internal memory with microSDHC expansion and an integrated DVB-H tuner for mobile TV. But is it enough to compete with the almighty iPhone?

LG KC910 Renoir Review PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 13 October 2008

Sample ImageHave you ever thought about how the touch phones came in style? Many consider iPhone as the revolutionary model of the new “movement” but LG keeps reminding us that their PRADA came out earlier. We will not dispute the truthfulness of this statement, but it is a fact that this was the flagship model of the new touch series released on the market by the South Korean manufacturer. Today, we’ll take a look at Renoir KC910, which is the latest entry in the line. As a successor to the Viewty, it is a powerful multimedia device with a top-shelf camera, hence named after the famous French artist.

Samsung i5810 INNOV8 Review PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 24 September 2008

Sample ImageThe Samsung Innov8 (i8510), a top of the range S60 handset in a slider form factor, was announced in late July. With an 8 megapixel camera (which gives the phone its name), 16GB of onboard flash memory, 2.8 inch screen, integrated GPS, accelerometer, optical senor and comprehensive software package it is, arguably, the new super-phone - the best specified device currently announced. Nokia's high end Nseries devices will finally be facing some serious competition; the INNOV8, positioned at the top end of the market with an estimated launch price upwards of £500, will be facing off against Nokia high-end Nseries devices such as the N95 8GB and N96.
